Packing familiar things for a stay

Familiar belongings are most useful when they come with familiar instructions. Before a boarding stay, gather the routine, food and handover details you want to discuss.

Start with the routine, then the bag

Write the usual feeding times, rest preferences and the way your pet likes to be approached. Ask which belongings should come with them before packing. Familiar bedding may be helpful context, but bringing an item does not establish that it is suitable for every accommodation arrangement.

Discuss essential care needs before requesting a stay.

Keep food and instructions together

Describe the food, portions and meal times clearly enough for another person to understand without guessing. Include changed instructions and anything you want reviewed before arrival. Each pet needs individual notes, even if two companions live together.

Use the same current information in the conversation and on the items you agree to bring.

Plan both handovers

Share arrival and collection dates, the person responsible and a contact available during the stay. Ask about the arrival window and travel arrangements. If plans change, let us know so we can review the handover and care notes with you.

Your next conversation

Bring the useful notes and tell us which boarding service you have in mind. Share your proposed stay dates, ask about preparation and wait for the arrangement to be agreed. Our contact page is the place to start that conversation.
